The departed Mrs. Gerhard Niemann nee Buldhaupt was born August 21, 1846, at Venne, Hanover, Germany. Soon after birth she was consecrated to the Triune God in Holy baptism. In 1848 the Buldhaupt family came to America establishing their home at Olean Riply Co., Indiana. There the departed received her education and having been instructed in the Christian doctrine of her church was confirmed.

Her childhood days were spent in Indiana and at Cincinnati, Ohio.

Early in the year 1877 she came to Fennimore, Wis., and on the 14th of March was united in marriage with Gerhard Niemann. The young couple came to Richfield, Fayette Co. Iowa, that same year where they lived on a farm 29 years, retiring in 1906, they moved to Sumner, where she spent the last 16 years of her life in the midst of many friends.

Their marriage union was blessed with 6 children, 3 sons and 3 daughters, two of which however, the oldest daughter and their son, Henry, having preceded the mother in eternity.

For many years the departed has been of ill health due to heart trouble. She was however always able to be about her work and was a regular attendant at church.

When her condition grew worse about 5 weeks ago, she realized that the time of departure from this life was near at hand. She once more partook of the Holy Sacrament, submitting to the Lord's will, she patiently and faithfully awaited the Master's call. Thus she peacefully feel asleep as we trust in the Lord on the morning of Dec. 4th, 1922.

She reached the age of 76 years, 8 months and 13 days.

The bereaved mourners are her husband, Gerhard Niemann; her children: Will, Fred, Lena Mrs. Herman Pleggenkuhle, Louisa Mrs. Herman Wittenburg, 19 grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
