TRIPOLI — LouAnn Laube, 75, of Tripoli, died Saturday, March 30, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home, Waterloo.

She was born Sept. 12, 1937, in Bremer County, daughter of Bernard and Florence Poock Everding, and after the death of her mother, was raised by her father and stepmother, Hulda. On June 15, 1958, she married Harold Laube at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, Readlyn.

Mrs. Laube graduated from Tripoli High School in 1956; attended Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls, for two years; and received her bachelor’s degree from Wartburg College, Waverly, in 1983. She taught school at Plainfield for a year and at Tripoli for many years, retiring in 2000. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Spring Fountain.

Survived by: her husband; two sons, Brent (Susan) of Keller, Texas, and Brian (Kim) of Altoona; a daughter, Linda (Wayne) Ott of Waterloo; nine grandchildren; a great-grandson; and a brother, Robert (Marilyn) Everding of Maquoketa.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John Lutheran Church, Spring Fountain, rural Sumner, with burial in Lutheran Cemetery of Sumner Township. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Rettig Funeral Home, Tripoli, and for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.

Memorials: may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or the Elevator Fund at St. John Lutheran Church, Spring Fountain.
