DENVER — Vernon Gerald Blasberg, 88, of Denver, formerly of Readlyn, died Tuesday, May 21, at Tripoli Nursing Home, Tripoli.

He was born July 3, 1924, in Readlyn, son of Herman and Martha Hoppenworth Blasberg. He married Allene Adelmund on Sept. 22, 1946, at Grace Lutheran Church, Tripoli.

Mr. Blasberg and his wife farmed and milked cows on the Blasberg family farm, retiring in 1992.

Survived by: his wife; a daughter-in-law, Pat (Wade) Tuchscherer of Fairbank; seven grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lorena Thurm of Denver; a brother, Edgar of Waverly; and a sister-in-law, Lavera of Waverly.

Preceded in death by: a daughter, Sharon Teisinger; and two sons, Steven and one in infancy; a great-grandchild; two sisters, Leona Lau and Erna Schwemm; three brothers, Roland in infancy and Alwin and Alfred; three brother-in-laws, Henry Lau, Lorraine Thurm and Henry Schwemm; and two sisters-in-law, Melva Blasberg and Erna Blasberg.

Services: 10 a.m. Friday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Maxfield, rural Denver, with burial in Harlington Cemetery, Waverly. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Denver.
