Source: WCFCourier.com - August 01, 2013 TRIPOLI — Carol Buls, 75, of Tripoli, died at home Tuesday, July 30.

She was born June 6, 1938, in Traer, daughter of Leonard Marjorie Eckhardt Axon. On June 17, 1959, she married Donald Buls at the Little Brown Church, Nashua.

Mrs. Buls graduated from high school in Tripoli in 1956. She and her husband operated Don Buls Excavating. She also drove a school bus for 44 years for the Tripoli School System. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Tripoli.

Survived by: her husband; three daughters, Julie Johnson of Waterloo, Melanie (Curt) Aalderks of Cedar Falls and Rhonda (Kent) Davis of Tripoli; a son, Brent of Sumner; six grandchildren, Leslie, Luke and Alex Davis, David Johnson, and Zachary and Natalie Severson; five great-grandchildren, Elise and Grace Mowatt, Jack and Lauren Severson, and Wyatt Davis; her mother; two brothers, John and Michael “Mic” Axon; a sister, Joyce (Ron) Opfer; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: her father; a sister, Norma Jean Axon; a son-in-law, David Johnson; and a daughter-in-law, Karen Buls.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church, Tripoli, with burial in Grace Lutheran Cemetery, Tripoli. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly.

Memorials: may be directed to the church or Cedar Valley Hospice.

Carol enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening. She canned and froze produce, and also sold it at the local farmers market. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
