WAVERLY — John Hubert “Johnny” Krull, 72, of Waverly, died Friday, Aug. 30, at Tripoli Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Tripoli.

He was born Dec. 14, 1940, in Grundy Center, son of Harm and Irene Bleeker Krull. On Sept. 20, 1961, he married Karen Crosser in Eldora.

He graduated from Grundy Center High School in 1960. Mr. Krull farmed the home place in Grundy Center, and then moved to Waterloo in 1964 and went to work at Rath Packing. In 1965, he took a job with John Deere, where he retired from in 1994. He then worked at the Mill in Nashua for a few years and Waverly Wal-Mart from 2006 to 2011. He was a member of United Auto Workers 838.

Survived by: his wife; three daughters, Kim (Mike) Plung of LaVergne, Tenn., Karla (Jim) Marks of Waverly and Melissa (Brian) Lumley of Nashua; a son, Steve (Annie) of Ionia; 15 grandchildren, Brett, Brandon, Joshua, Trisha, Matthew, Kyle, Colin, Laine, Stephanie, Allie, Todd, Kimmie, Samantha, Johnny and Jacob; four great-grandchildren, Payden, Braydon, Clara and Kelsie; a brother, Harm (Esther) of Parkersburg; and five sisters, Rena Mott of Nebraska, Harriet (Jim) Bowen of Reinbeck, Dena (Warren) Lindaman of Wellsburg, Jane (Jack) Greer of Rockwell and Mary Ann (Ernie) Norris of Tennessee.

Preceded in death by: his parents; and a brother, Albert.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly. He will then be cremated. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

John’s enjoyments included wildlife, farming, vacationing with family, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.
