PLAINFIELD-Rev. Eugene L. Shipp, 76 of rural Plainfield, died Thursday, Sept. 24, at Sumner Community Memorial Hospital, Sumner, of congestive heart failure.

Rev. Shipp served in the U.S. Army during World War II, until December 1945; he graduated from Baptist Bible Seminary in Johnson City, N.Y., and had pastored in churches in South Owego, N.Y.,Farmington, Edgewood and Bricelyn, Minn., retiring in 1993.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Pauline; two daughters, Myrna Williams of Edmond, Okla., and Donna Davenport of Wilmington, Calif.; a son, L. Kevin Shipp of rural Plainfield; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Wilma Brase and Myrtle Jensen, both of Plainfield and Darlene Shipp of Waterloo.

SERVICES: Will be 10 a.m. Monday at Horton Baptist Church, with burial in Horton Cemetery, both in rural Waverly; friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, with family present from 2 to 5 p.m.

MEMORIALS: May be directed to the family for a fund to be established at a later date.
