William Bremer Sr.
Wm. Bremer, Sr., was born the 7th of January, 1832, in Saszenhagen, Pommerania, Germany. In the year 1857, the 16th of February, he was united in matrimony with Wilhelmina Steinburg. The same year he came to America and settled in the State of Wisconsin. In the year 1837 he moved to Bremer Co., Iowa, settling on a farm near Sumner until about 16 years ago when he came to town to reside. Mr. Bremer became a member of the Evangelical church and remained as such until the final summons. He died after a lingering illness, the 10th of June, 1908, at the age of 76 years, 5 months, and 26 days. He leaves an adopted son, one brother and many relatives. His wife, two brothers and two sisters preceded him death.

The funeral was held Saturday morning at 11 o'clock in the Evangelical church, Rev. H. Sassmann officating and interment was made in Union Mound cemetery.
