TRIPOLI-August Pieper, 75, Friday in the Sumner community hospital of anemia; born in Germany March 4, 1875, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Pieper, and came to the United States with his parents in 1883, the family settling north of Tripoli; confirmed in the Evangelical church in 1888 in Leroy township; lived on the home place north of Tripoli, in Frederika township until they returned to Tripoli in 1924; member of the church board in Leroy township and of the church board of St. Peter's Evangelical Reformed church in Tripoli; leaves widow, one daughter, Mrs. Herbert Zickuhr, Frederika township; three grandchildren and one great grandchild; one sister, Mrs. Ernestine Gaede, Sumner; funeral 1:45 p.m. Monday at the Meier funeral home and at 2 in St. Peter's Evangelical Reformed church; burial in St. Peter's cemetery.
