Allen Lee Kuecker, son of Ervin and Elna Bergmann Kuecker, was born August 26, 1947, at Sumner, Iowa. He was baptized by Rev. Ewald Senst at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Siegel. He attended country grade school and Tripoli High School, graduating in 1965. He later attended airline school. He then worked at the Tripoli Grocery Store for Erv and Linda Kuker, and really enjoyed being a Waterloo Courier carrier for many years. Allen enjoyed school and was a talented football player. He loved softball and loved the Chicago Cubs.

Al's career included working at Ramker Construction, John Deere, Sumner Bakery, Specialty Wire Co. in Sumner, Omega Cabinets in Waterloo, and Kortbein's Grocery in Tripoli. He had served as president of the Tripoli Jaycees, and was currently a trustee at Faith United Church of Christ in Tripoli.

His happiest time in life was going with Roger Goudschaal and entertaining people with his role as a bodyguard with Elvis & Friends. Allen also loved being "Santa" for many friends, family, and their children. He also loved to bowl and play golf. Over the years, he participated in several Tripoli musicals and community variety shows. He was especially happy when he joined Faith United Church of Christ in Tripoli, saying "there are so many nice people there."

Allen's death occurred unexpectedly from a sudden illness at his home in Tripoli on Sunday afternoon, July 17, 2011. He was sixty-three years old.

He is survived by his mother, Elna Kuecker of Tripoli; five brothers, Roger (Kathy) of Denver, Larry (Carol) of Fredericksburg, Lowell (Debra) of Buckeye, Arizona, Danny (Julie) of Prairie City, Iowa, and Lynn (Kathleen) of Huxley; one sister, JoAnn (Mark) Volker of Fredericksburg; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ervin who died September 13, 1989.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 22, 2011, at Faith United Church of Christ in Tripoli, with Rev. Marilyn Sargent officiating. Interment will be at Grace Lutheran Cemetery in Tripoli. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m.until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 21, 2011, at Rettig Funeral Home in Tripoli and for one hour before services at the church on Friday.
