NEW HAMPTON, Iowa --- Marian L. Bahlmann, 90 of New Hampton, died Tuesday, July 3, at New Hampton Care Center.

She was born Dec. 13, 1921, on a farm near Sumner, daughter of Edward and Laura Smith Treloar. She married Stanley Bahlmann June 24, 1941, at Faith Church, Tripoli. He died Feb. 22, 2010.

Mrs. Bahlmann graduated from Sumner High School in 1938 and taught country school. She and her husband farmed near Frederika, and she was a cook at Frederika High School, New Hampton Care Center, Tripoli Nursing Home and Congregate Meals in Tripoli. Later she was an aide at Bremer County Care Facility.

Survived by: four sons, Gary (Gayle) of Lansing, Dennis of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., Jeffery of New Hampton and Martin of Cedar Falls; three daughters, Marilyn (Vern) Bockhaus of Ionia, Judy Houston of St. Louis and Debbie (Denny) Reding of Dysart; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jack (Judy) Treloar of Waucoma and Don (Mary) Treloar of Hawkeye; a sister, Joyce Ellicson of Decorah; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; two sisters, Beth Wireman and Catherine Flaig; and two brothers, George and Clayton Treloar.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Frederika United Methodist Church, Frederika, with burial in Alcock Cemetery, rural Frederika. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Conway-Markham Funeral Home, New Hampton, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.

She enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, cooking, baking and playing cards. She was an active member of Frederika United Methodist Church and the Red Hat Society.
