PAUL AUBREY, 37, OF WINONA, MINN., CALLED SUDDENLY

Popular Young Man, Raised Here, Dies Sunday Forenoon

The many friends of Paul Aubrey, 37, son of Ora Aubrey of this community, were shocked Sunday when word was received here of his sudden death at General hospital in Winona, Minn., where he and his family have resided in recent years.

Mr. Aubrey was born and raised in this community, and was held in high regard by his schoolmates. The past few years he has been employed as bookkeeper in Winona.

For many years he had been subject to severe headaches, and a few days before his death he was taken seriously ill, death coming quickly at 11:45 Sunday forenoon. He was 37 years, 6 months and 23 days of age.

Paul O. Aubrey, son of Ora and Maggie nee Armstrong Aubrey, was born at Sumner, Iowa, Feb. 20, 1899. He was consecrated by baptism on June 11 of the same year. After receiving instruction in the fundamental doctrine of the Christian religion, he was confirmed in the Lutheran faith by the late Rev. H. Bredow in a class of 11 members on Apr. 16, 1916. He attended Sumner high school and completed the course with the class of 1919.

On Nov. 16, 1921, he was united in marriage with Medora Ellsworth. Two sons, Robert and Dwane were born to this union. The family lived a short time in Sumner and Tripoli and then moved to Winona, Minn., about 10 years ago.

Besides his wife and two sons, he is survived by his father, Ora Aubrey; and two brothers, Roy and Claude, all of this community. His mother preceded him in death Dec. 16, 1934.

The body was brought to Sumner Tuesday night, and funeral services were held at St. John's Lurtheran church Wednesday afternoon, Rev. C. J. Mardorf officiating. Interment was in the the Lutheran cemetery North of town. Pall bearers were classmates of the deceased: Arthur Thies, Clarence Niemann, Howard Stafford, Earl and Milo Lease, and Claude Clifford.
