FUNERAL TUES. FOR MRS. YOUNG
Jennie Almena Hurlbut Young, daughter of Daniel and Almena Hurlbut, was born in Warren Township, Dec. 19, 1873. She died Saturday afternoon after a brief illness of only two days. On Jan 10, 1893 she was united in marriage to Jerome W. Young. They made their home for many years on the family farm in the Six Mile Grove community, Polk township. To this union six children were born. In March, 1929, with her family she moved to Waverly, buying their home on 1st ave. S.W. where she has since resided. She participated actively in the work of the First Baptist church here, teaching Sunday school classes and working in the ladies organizations of the church. In addition to one sister, Mrs. Julia Gish of Huntington Park, Calif., she is survived by her six children: Mrs. Vivia Borglum of Huntington Park, Calif.; Mrs. Blanche White of Plainfield; Mrs. Bernice Harrision of Nashua; Perry Young of Plainfield; Mrs. Amy Bryan of Portland, Oregon; and Leslie Young of Waverly; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Her husband, six brothers and five sisters preceded her in death. Services were conducted at the Kaiser funeral home Tuesday with the Rev. Loyal H. Marx of the First Baptist church of Waverly officiating. Internment was at Greenwood cemetery, Nashua.
