Sumner - Mrs. J.H. Wehrmacher, 84, a resident of Sumner for over 30 years and a native of Bremer county, died Tuesday afternoon as a result of a heart attack which she suffered while feeding chickens in the back yard of her home, shortly before.

Mrs. Wehrmacher was born Feb 3, 1855 in Bremer County. Her parents were Henry and Doris Meyer/Meier. She was married to Henry Wehrmacher in Janesville in 1872, and they made their home in Dayton Twp for 20 years. in 1907 they moved to Sumner and she made her home there ever since.

She is survived by four children: W.H. Wehrmacher of Waverly, Mrs. H.C. Frank of Sumner, Mrs. J.L. Engelman of Houston, Texas and Mrs. F.K. Brown of Sumner; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren; also one sister, Mrs. William Heineman of Tripoli.

Funeral services were held Saturday forenoon at 10:00 o'clock at the late home with Rev. C.J. Mardorf, pastor of the St. John's Lutheran church officiating. Interment was in the Grove Hill cemetery.
