Darlene Ruby Baker, 82, of Tripoli, died Wednesday, Jan 12, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo of a short illness.

She was born Nov. 4, 1928, in Sidney, Neb., daughter of William and Rosa Doerr Windsheimer.

She graduated from Gurley High School in gurley, Neb., in 1946. She was a homemaker and worked at Tripoli Public Library for more than 20 years, retiring in 2005. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Tripoli.

Survived by six children, Carolyn (Darren) Haley of Tripoli, Eleanor (Stephen) Richardson of Ely, Darrell of Bluffton, Marlene (Christ) Ostby in Cypress, Texas, Marvin of Tripoli and Merry (Norman) Andre of Aurora, Colo; eight grandchildren and two great grandsons.

Preced in death by a brother, Leland Windsheimer.

Services at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Grace Lutheran Church, with burial in Grace Lutheran Cemetery, both in Tripoli. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Rettig Funeral Home, Tripoli, and for an hour before services Monday at the church.
