Carl A. Tegtmeier, a representative of the well known Tegtmeier family of Bremer county and one of the progressive and substantial farmers of Fremont township, was born on the farm which he now owns December 17, 1875, a son of Henry Tegtmeier, deceased. He spent his childhood upon the homestead and at his father's death succeeded to the ownership of one hundred and eighty-seven acres on section 32, Fremont township. This farm has excellent buildings upon it and is well equipped in every particular, its condition showing the care and labor which the owner bestows upon it. Mr. Tegtmeier engages in general farming and dairying and has met with a gratifying measure of success.

Carl A. Tegtmeier married Miss louisa Haase, a daughter of Henry Haase, and they became the parents of two children, Clarence and Renetta, at home. Mr. Tegtmeier is a member of the Evangelical Association and a democrat in his political beliefs. He is a progressive, active and practical farmer and his record is an added credit to an honored and worthy name.
