Among the progressive and representative citizens of Readlyn is numbered H.G. Moeller, who although he is still a young man has risen through the force of his ambition, energy and enterprise to a high place in business circles of the city. He is a native of Maxfield township, born October 6, 1893, his parents being A.F. and Mary (Oltrogge) Moeller, natives of Germany. The mother came to America when she was four years of age and the father at the age of twenty-five. He is now one of the substantial farmers of Maxfield township, residing on one of the best improved tracts of land in this part of the county. In his family are four children, all of whom were born in Maxfield township: Ernest, now a resident of Franklin township; H.G., of this review; Lydia; and Paul. The parents are members of St. Matthew's German Lutheran church of Maxfield and the father was at one time road supervisor in the district where his farm is located.

H.G. Moeller acquired his early education in the public and German schools of his native township. He later took a course in Wartburg College at Waverly, clerking during vacation periods in Schlitsmeyer's store. On the 1st of October, 1913, he opened a garage at Readlyn and he has already built up a large business, keeping a fine stock of Ford and White automobiles and conducting also a repair shop with an assistant in charge.

Mr. Moeller is a member of St. Matthew's German Lutheran church and his political beliefs are in accord with the principles of the democratic party. He is a young man of force, ability and capacity and he will undoubtedly be carried forward by reason of these qualities into important relations with business interests of Readlyn.
