W.H. Krull, one of the active and progressive farmers of Bremer county, owning the farm of eighty acres upon which his father settled in early times, was born upon the property he now operates, January 12, 1874. His father, William Krull, was born in Germany, October 14, 1831, and came to the United States in 1858, settling in Cook county, Illinois. He married there in 1862 Miss Minnie Schultz, also a native of Germany, and in 1869 they came to Bremer county, among the early settlers. They located on a farm of forty acres, where the town of Tripoli now stands, and one year later moved to an eighty acre tract on section 9. The father improved and developed this property for many years but finally retired from active life and moved into Tripoli, where his death occurred November 16, 1908. His wife survives him and makes her home in Tripoli. They became the parents of six children, four of whom died in infancy. The others are: W.H., of this review; and Mrs. H.C. Koch.

W.H. Krull was reared at home and acquired his education in the public schools of Tripoli. After laying aside his books he learned the barber's trade, following this for thirteen years. At the end of that time he inherited the homestead and his attention has since been concentrated upon his farming interests. He owns eighty acres of fine land, with an excellent set of buildings, on section 9, Fremont township, and is constantly improving this property, bringing it to a high state of cultivation and development.

Mr. Krull married Miss Theresa Schucknecht, a daughter of Christof Schucknecht, one of the early settlers of Fremont township. Mr. and Mrs. Krull have two children, Wendell and Josephine, both attending Tripoli high school. Mr. Krull is a member of the Evangelical Association and he gives his political allegiance to the progressive party. He occupies a high place among Bremer county's active and successful native sons and holds the esteem and confidence of all who are in any way associated with thim.
