Ernest C. Fink, a practical and successful young agriculturist of Fremont township, owning one hundred and twenty acres of land on section 14, was born in this locality December 1, 1882, a son of John Fink, of whom further mention is made elsewhere in this work. E.C. Fink acquired his education in the public schools of Tripoli and afterward remained at home until he was twenty-two years of age. He then bought one hundred and twenty acres on section 14, Fremont township, and upon this property he has since resided, developing his farm along progressive and modern lines. When it came into his possession there were no buildings except the house and an old log stable which served as a shelter for the stock. Mr. Fink has erected a good barn and other outbuildings and has made his place one of the model agricultural properties of the vicinity. He was for seven years secretary of the local creamery and is interested in enterprises of this character.

Mr. Fink married Miss Bertha Freese, who was born in Bremer county, a daughter of Henry Freese, a retired farmer residing in Tripoli. Mr. and Mrs. Fink have become the parents of three children, Elroy, Lydia and Arnold. Mr. Fink is a member of the Lutheran church and a democrat in his political beliefs, serving at present as president of the school board. He is a practical and able farmer and has already met with gratifying and well deserved success.
