Hi Jym,

I was very excited to stumble across your post regarding the Fibikar/Holly family. I assume that since your last name is Montgomery, you are a descendant of George and Anna (Holly) Montgomery.

Joe Fibikar was the older brother of my grandmother. She was a twin, Katherine Fibikar Headley.

My grandmother purchased and lived on the Fibikar family farms in Boone County until retirement.

I have scanned TONS of Holly & Fibikar photos and some Montgomery photos. I have scanned the history my grandmother collected from other relatives.

Rich & Betty Fibikar are stellar folks. I love visiting them when I am in Iowa and they have always been so very, very good at keeping in touch with my mom and also visiting my grandmother when she was alive. I encourage you to get in touch with them using the information Bobby posted. I have never had the pleasure of meeting or corresponding with Bobby, but am so very glad he saw your post and responded this past summer.

Hopefully you will see my post and get in touch with me. I have several Holly photos that are not labeled. Perhaps you can help. Plus, I will gladly copy everything I have scanned on all the families to a CD/DVD or flash drive and send it to you.

My grandma and mom have always decorated and cared for the family graves scattered around Boone County, Iowa. When I am in Iowa, I enjoy helping and have taken photos of all the graves we tend. If you go to FindAGrave.com, the Mackey Cemetery in Boone County is where Joe's and my grandmother's parents and uncles and an aunt and their families are buried. In addition, Anna Jacobetz Dvoracek and her husband are buried there. (Two of the three Jacubek sisters that came here with their father to the Cedar Rapids area from the Czech Republic. I've noted that Jacobs is the "American" version of their name. Perhaps they never went by Jacobs, but I've noted that perhaps others did.)

I should have some better photos of the graves to share than what was posted on FindaGrave...although I think the person who did this cemetery did a great job and appreciate all the work he did to post the information and photos for us.

I also have at least one old contact that may prove fruitful on the Holly side of the family if you are working on that history as well.

Let me know of your interests! I haven't done any work on the Fibikar line since last October when I met with a distant cousin that is our Fibikar family genealogy treasure. ...it has been a full two years since I scanned all of the Fibikar/Holly photos and memorabilia/history, so I may need to refresh my memory so I can talk.

I am willing to work with anyone related to these families. They were quite large families and I'd like to learn much more about the ancestors and enjoy connecting with "new" relatives.

Sharil
