John G. Michel, 82, Route 3, Boone

John G. Michel, 82, of Route 3, Boone, died early this Wednesday, Oct. 4, at the Story City Hospital following a lingering illness. Mr. Michel farmed in the Mackey area for 60 years. He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Survivors include three sons, Carl Michel of Laramie, Wyo., Kenneth Michel of Boone, and Loren Michel of Des Moines; four daughters, Mrs. Ann Jacobs, Mrs. Velda Lutjen and Mrs. Melva Sherman, all of Des Moines, and Mrs. Carol Varner of Detroit, Mich.; one brother, Andrew Michel of Boone; a sister, Mrs. Charles Crouse of Cheyenne, Wyo.; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mr. Michel was preceded in death by his wife, Ella, in January 1962.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 6, at 1:30 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Alfred Allmann in charge. Burial will be at the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Schroeder Funeral Home from Thursday noon to Friday noon. Memorials may be given to the Lutheran Home for the Blind.
