Herbert William Walter "Hap" Krumm was born May 10, 1910 in Hamilton County, Iowa to Julius and Reka (Kreutner) Krumm. He entered his Lord's kingdom at 1:30 p.m. on August 10, 1998 at the Evangelical Free Church Home in Boone, Iowa.

He was baptized on June 12, 1910 at St.Paul's Lutheran Church by Paster Louis Kolb. He publicly confirmed his faith April 13, 1924 by Pastor Otto Geisler at St.Paul's Lutheran Church. He married Marie Esther Johanna Mindeman on December 29, 1930. Their union was blessed with a son, Hurley and a daughter, Joye.

Hap was a lifelong member of St.Paul's Lutheran Church where he held various offices. He lived in Hamilton County, and farmed in Boone and Hamilton Counties, until he retired and moved to Boone.

Survivors include his wife, Marie; daughter, Joye Engstrom; sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Sam Ayres of Seal Beach, California; daughter-in-law, Doris Mathre; two sisters-in-law, Mae Krumm and Therese Koch; five grandchildren, Jennifer Friedmeyer, Dennis Krumm, Daniel Engstrom, Cynthia O'Brien and Karol Krumm; and nine great-grandchildren, Toby and Tracy Krumm, Abby, Lindsay and Jeffrey Friedmeyer, Jamie and Zachary Engstrom, Nikki and Lexxi O'Brien.

Hap was preceded in death by his parents; son, Hurley; four brothers, August, Julius, Walter and Fred; and a sister, Elsie Eckley.
