Funeral services for Albert F. Schroeder were held at Trinity Lutheran Church on Friday afternoon, April 17, 1959. The Rev. Martin L. Seltz, pastor of the church, based his funeral sermon on James 4, 13-15, "If the Lord Wills." Hymn music was played on the organ by Mrs. Mildred Achenbach. Pallbearers were Edward Wienberg, Henry Plahn, Jule Kueck, Wesley Paulson, Guy Lamb, Walter Lippert. Those in charge of flowers: Mrs. Edward Wienberg and Mrs. George Becker. Interment took place at Linwood Park Cemetery.

Albert Fred Schroeder was born at Boone, Iowa, September 29, 1895, the son of Jacob Schroeder and Anna nee' Vohs. He was baptized Nov. 3 of the same year by Pastor J.P. Guenther. He attended Trinity Parish School and Boone Public Schools and on April 4, 1909 was confirmed by Pastor Otto L. Erbe.

On September 20, 1922 he was married to Amanda Kolb at Trinity Lutheran Church, Des Moines. Three children were born to this union, one son and two daughters.

A veteran of World War I, he was employed by the American Dry Goods Store for many years, and for the past 15 years had served as salesman for the Iowa Electric Light and Power Company.

He was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran congregation throughout his life and served in various official capacities, on the finance committee and school board of the church, as well as elder for six years. His death occurred Wednesday afternoon, April 15, 1959 at the age of 63 years, 6 months and 17 days.

Surviving are his wife, Amanda; one son, Jack, of Wichita, Kansas; two daughters, Gretchen, Mrs. Richard Metteer, of Anaheim, Calif., and Lois, Mrs. Einar Larsen of Newton; two sisters, Mrs. Henry Wallace and Mrs. Anna Meyer, both of Boone; four brothers, William of Davenport, Charles of Oklahoma City, John of Sioux City, and Jacob of Boone; also seven grandchildren.
