Daniel Mugan, one of the oldest settlors of Boone, died last Monday, and his funeral took place yesterday morning, a large crowd attending. Mr. Mugan purchased his lot on Story Street, opposite Evans’ restaurant, at the first lot sale in Boone, and commenced to build his house in the then cornfield, and it was one pf the first built in Boone. For the last few years he has been unable to do much work, his lungs being affected, and consumption is the disease that carried him off. He leaves a wife and two daughters to mourn his loss.
