Candidate Commits Suicide.
George W. Smith, Democratic candidate for county superintendent of schools, committed suicide by hanging at his home near Pilot Mound. No cause is known for his act.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he is buried in Linn Cemetery and was born June 2, 1864 and died February 3, 1908.
