Leland Harvey, 93, of Polk City died of cancer Monday in Torrence, Calif. Services will be at 2 pm. Sunday at Polk City Evangelical Free Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be at Union Cemetery there.

Mr. Harvey was born in Polk City and lived in the area most of his life. He was a retired farmer and member of the Polk City Historical Society and Polk City Senior Citizens.

Survivors include two sons, Merrill of Madrid and Donald of Kansas City, Mo.; a daughter, LaVonne Foster of Torrence, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 11 a.m. Saturday at Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Madrid, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to his church ~ The Des Moines Register, Des Moines, Iowa Fri 7 Feb 1997.
