Ila Neal, 74, of 1715 E. Ninth St. died Jan. 17, 1996, at Boone County Hospital. Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Schroeder Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Donald Stover officiating. Burial is at Bass Point Cemetery.
Mrs. Neal was born April 8, 1921, in Greene, the daughter of Lee and Edna (Meyers) Atkinson. On May 27, 1944, at Wilmington, N.C., she married Lewis Neal (sic).
She was a homemaker and worked at Bourns in Ames for several years.
She was a member of First Evangelical Free Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
Her husband, two sisters and four brothers preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Frona and Marvin Roos of Moline, Ill., and Kathy and Craig Leaf of Boone; two sons and daughters-in-law, George and Beth Dersham of Jasper, Ark., and Harry and Tressie Dersham of Crane, Mo.; her companion, Roy Carroll of Boone; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday with the family present from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Schroeder Memorial Chapel. Visitation continues Monday from 8 a.m. until service time.
