MARGARET K. WELDER

Margaret Katherine Welder, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at the Boone County Hospital, in Boone, Iowa, with family at her side. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 7, at the Sanborn Memorial Chapel in the Madrid Home in Madrid. Burial took place at Mt. Hope Cemetery, south of Madrid.

Margaret was born on June 28, 1921 in Bayard, IA, in the family home to Fred and Viola (Titus) Bennethum. Margaret married Russel Welder on December 4, 1935; they had three boys, James, Don L. and Fred.

Margaret's love was her family, church, cooking, camping, traveling, shopping, her trips to Branson, Missouri and her visits with Doctor Downs. She also loved going to her great-grandchildren's activities. Margaret loved life and was kind to everyone she met.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by James and Marilyn Welder, Don L. and Pat Welder, daughter-in-law, Gloria Welder and James Gould all of Madrid; seven grandchildren, Cindy, Kathy, Debbie, Scott, Teresa and Stacey; ten great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Amanda, Jessica, Michael, Kristy, Angie, Tracy, Justin, Andrew and Donnie; nine great-great-grandchildren, Russel (R.J.), Bailey, Emma, Hayden, Zoe, Brooklyn, Rayne, Oliver and baby girl Utecht due in April. She was not only a grandma to her family, but also to those who cared for her.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Russel Welder; brother, Fred (Marge) Bennethum; sister, Eva Case; one son, Fred Welder; and one granddaughter, Brenda Welder.

The family had greeted friends from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 6, at Iles Funeral Homes, Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Chapel in Madrid.

Memorials may be made to the Sanborn Memorial Chapel in the Madrid Home.

The world lost a great woman, but heaven gained an angel. We will see you again one day.
