Mark Schroeder

Services for Mark Schroeder, 55, 600 1st, will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul Faga in charge. Burial is in Linwood Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Schroeder Funeral Home Wednesday from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. to noon, at which time the body will be taken to the church. Memorials may be given to the Trinity Lutheran Church.

Mark Schroeder was born December 26, 1919 in Boone, son of Fred and Ellen Fischer Schroeder. He married Charlotte Burgess on May 18, 1944 in Des Moines.

A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp in World War II, he was an engineer for the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad. He was a member of the Marine Corp League and the American Legion, served as city councilman in 1958-1959, and was councilman at large from 1968-1973.

Schroeder died December 15, 1975, at the Boone County Hospital, preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bob. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Susan) Hodges of Perry; a brother, Marvin of Grant Pass, Oregon; two sisters, Mrs. Harold (Edna) Wesack of Atlantic and Mrs. Donald (Lenora) Hasstedt of Boone; several nieces and nephews.
