Joseph Meier, 57, of rural Madrid, died Saturday at the Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames.

Survivors include his wife, Violet; three sons, Theodore of Maxwell, Eugene of Woodward, and Dean of Madrid; one daughter, Coleen Caldwell of Merrian, Kansas; two brothers, Earl of Woodward and Merton of Perry; and five grandchildren.

The funeral is scheduled for Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the United Methodist Church in Luther. Rev. Robert Aitken will officiate, and burial follows at the Fairview Cemetery in Madrid.

Friends may call at the Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Madrid until noon on Tuesday or at the United Methodist Church from 1 p.m. until time of the service.
