L.M. BRIGGS LAID TO REST IN LINWOOD PARK
Services Held Sunday afternoon at Lawrence Chapel
Deceased was Born in Boone 1876
Was a fireman for the C & NW Railroad Until he was maimed for life in an Accident

A number of relatives and friends of the late Levi M Briggs attended the funerall services which were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Lawrence Funeral Home in charge of the B of LF&E, of which the deceased had been a member.
The sermon was given by the Rev. L.E. Viets, pastor of the First Baptist church. The music was furnished by Mrs. Lucy McPherson, Mrs. Clarence Jennings, Mrs. Ray Keigley, who were accompanied
by Miss Sara Perrine. Mrs. Keigley and Mrs. Jennings sang "Does Jesus CAre" as a duet. Mrs McPherson sang "The City Foursquare" as a solo with a trio on the chorus. Mrs. Jennings and Mrs. Keigley sang "The Old Rugged Cross" as a duet.
The pallbearers were messers L.M. Strong, R.S. Norton, William Harding, Tom Morgan, J.W. Caarl and S. Mummey, fellow members of his brotherhood. Interment was made in Linwood Park Cemetery, east.

His Life Sktech
Levi M Briggs was born February 18, 1876 at Boone, IA and died March 19, 1926. He lived here all of his life and received his education in the local schools.
He served his apprenticeshippp as a bker and worked a while at th trade, later being emoloyed as a fireman for the C & NW. He worked at this until he met with a serious accidnet 24 years ago which maimed him for life. After this he served some time as a sub-mail carrier for his father, the late GEorge Briggs.
When a young boy he converted in the Episcopal church, but he had never been closley connected with any church in his later days on account of his crippled condition.
He was a member of the B of LF&E, retainning his membership up tohis passing.
A sister, Elizabeth Reed survives him.
