Glenn Edward, third child of Alonzo and Viola Briggs, was born April 15, 1908, in the city of Boone.
He attended the schools of our community and was about to graduate from high school when the family moved to Des Moines, where he attended North High.
After graduation he learned his trade, working as a plasterer until sickness terminated his activities in the line of his trade.
He was united in marriage to Miss Emma Ahrens on November 24, 1925 and to this union one child Beverly Jane, was born, who with the wife and mother, Mrs. Alonzo Briggs, remain to mourn his death.
He is also survived by a brother Harry of Boone, a sister Mrs. Iris Halverson of Des Moines, and an aged grandmother, Mrs. Barbara Cripliver.Spend Year In Hospital
Glenn Briggs last winter met with an accident which bruised his right leg, infection set in, the condition grew worse and compelled him to spend months in our county hospital. Spring, summer and Fall of this year having been spent there, it was deemed advisable to take the patient to Iowa City. There, in charge of specialists, an operation was performed which promised relief and final recovery. Unexpectedly, on Monday of that weeks, his condition grew worse, culminating in death which occurred Monday evening,
Dec 4. He was 25 years, 7 months and 19 days old.
AS attendant at the services of Trinity Lutheran since his marriage the deceased joined the church by rite of baptism which was administered while a patient at the hospital. He continued in this faith and found comfort and strength in God's word and promised, passing away in the firm hope of salvation in Christ Jesus our Lord.
The sympathy of friends and neighbors is extended to the widow and mother in their bereavement.CARD OF THANKS
We wish to thank the friends and relatives for their kindness and floral offerings sent during our recent bereavement. The Family.
