RONALD E. JANOVICK
SEP. 2, 1950 - MAR. 4, 2010

Ron was born in Des Moines on Sept. 2, 1950 and lived in Madrid during his younger years. His family moved to Perry, Iowa where he graduated from Perry High School and then attended Iowa State, graduating with a degree in education. He taught school and was a coach at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Fonda, Iowa and later worked at Woodward State Hospital-School. He coached numerous teams in the Madrid, Woodward and Perry areas and was also an umpire for many ballgames.

The last few years Ron traveled and the past year and a half has lived at the Granger Rehab & Nursing Facility in Granger, Iowa, where he died peacefully in his sleep after a long struggle with kidney failure oon March 4, 2010.

His passions included sports, especially the St. Louis Cardinals, Madrid Tigers, casinos and fishing.

He is survived by one sister, Jackie Hall (Harold); three nieces: Sherri Hall of Des Moines, Julie Gibbons (Mark) of Johnston, Ia., Debra Sahulka of Bemidji, Minn.; two nephews: Perry of Woodbury, Minn., Anthony (Lana) of Roberts, Wisc.; one grandniece: Megan Gibbons,; four grandnephews: Matthew Gibbons, Joshua Hall, Isaak Sahulka and Lukas Sahulka; and one uncle: Bud Corieri (Retha) and many, many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Corieri Janovick and Elmer Janovick, nephew Mark Hall, his grandparents and many aunts and uncles.

Services will be announced and held at a later date this spring.
