, 2009. Funeral services will be Friday, April 17, 2009, at 1:00 p.m. at the First Evangelical Free Church with Rev. Jerry Bauman officiating. Burial will be in the Mackey Cemetery in Mackey.
Annette was born on May 31, 1955, in Emmetsburg, Iowa, the daughter of George and Mary (Raper) Gibson. She graduated from Boone High School in 1973 where she was editor-in-chief of the 1973 Scroll. Annette married Dennis Thede on April 28, 1974, at the First Evangelical Free Church in Boone. For 11 years, she worked as a grocery checkout clerk at the Boone Fareway Store. She and Dennis moved to Lawrence, Kansas in 1999. Annette worked at the University National Bank in Lawrence as a teller for 8 years. The couple returned to Boone in 2007. She was a member of the First Evangelical Free Church. Annette enjoyed bowling at the Imperial Lanes, golfing, tennis, crocheting and sewing, and her cats. She was an avid Kansa\s City Chiefs fan and she especially enjoyed times with her grandchildren.
Annette was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Kathleen Gibson Gregg. She is survived by her husband, Dennis of Boone; three daughters, Sara Thede and husband Scott Benter of Webster City, Laura Kathman and husband Michael of Boone, and Karen Thede of Lawrence, Kansas; two brothers, Paul Drefke of Kansas City, Kansas and Phil Drefke and wife Sandy of Plano, Illinois; a sister, Francine Hamil and husband Tom of Boone; three grandchildren, Lane and Morgan Kathman, and Jordan Benter; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Donald and Donna Thede of Boone.
Friends may call at the Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall on Thursday from noon until 8:00 p.m. where the family will be present to receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Visitation continues Friday at the funeral chapel from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. and then at the First Evangelical Free Church from noon until service time.
Memorials may be given to "Susan G. Komen for the Cure".
