C. W. Snyder Died Last Wednesday at Home in Branson, Mo.
Remains Were Brought to Madrid and Funeral Services Held Sunday in Granger

C. W. Snyder, the most of his life a resident of this community passed away last Wednesday, March 21st, at his home near Branson, Mo. Mr. Snyder was taken ill with the flu a week preceding his death, and pneumonia developed after a few days and despite the care exercised in his behalf he passed away.
The remains were shipped to Madrid and taken to the home of his brother-in-law, Adam Hoop, where they remained until Sunday. They were then taken to Granger where the funeral exercises were held in the U. B. church Sunday afternoon. Interment was made in the Lincoln cemetery.

Born Near Madrid
Mr. Snyder was a son of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Snyder, pioneer parents of the community south of Madrid, and was born on the old Snyder farm just south of what is known as Snyder bridge, east of High Bridge, on Dec. 9, 1878. There he grew to manhood.
He was united in marriage to Miss Rosa Ada Barnavelt, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Barnavelt of Madrid, on Feb 27, 1907. To this union five children were born, four of whom survive: Carl Snyder of Halbird, S. D., Mrs. Rosa Murray, Granger; John B. and Myrle W. both at home. One daughter, Kate Eleanor, died in infancy. Besides the children and the widow he is also survived by two brothers and two sisters: George Snyder of Canada, Oliver Snyder of Granger, Mrs. Wilbur Herrald of Altoona, Iowa; and Mrs. Thomas Humphrey, of Branson, Mo.
After their marriage Mr. and Mrs Snyder resided for several years on the old home place, and then moved to South Dakota where they lived for eleven years. They then returned to Madrid and lived here for some time, then months ago to Branson, Mo., where Mr. Snyder passed away, at the age of 49 years, 3 months and 12 days.
Mr, Snyder was a kind and loving husband and father, a genial and kindly disposed friend and neightbor. His sudden death brought sadness to the hearts of everyone who knew him, and their sympathies go out to the bereaved widow, children and other relatives.
The funeral services held Sunday afternoon in the Granger U. B. church were in charge of Rev. R. R. Percy, the pastor, and attended by a large number of the old friend and neighbors of the deceased. Interment was made in the Lincoln cemetery.
