Esteemed Lady Succumbs To The Inevitable After A Brief Illness.

Funeral Largely Attended By Sorrowing Relatives and Friends.

Ogden was called upon to mourn the loss of one of its oldest and most highly respected citizens last Saturday, when Mrs. J.P. Hageleen passed into the Great Beyond after an illness of short duration, occasioned by an injury sustained at her home. The following obituary of this excellent lady, prepared by her Pastor, Rev. Arvid W. Alden, is very comprehensive, and we are pleased to give same space in these columns, as follows: It has pleased the Almighty to summon one of the oldest residents of this community, Mrs. Maria Christina Hageleen, to the great beyond. She was born at Ostergotland, Sweden, November 29, 1834. Was united in marriage with J.P. Hageleen, whose departure she was called upon to mourn in September, 1916, the 29th of November 1857. Their union was blessed with seven children of whom two sons, Anton and Goddfrey (sic), are dead. The Hageleen family emigrated from Sweden and arrived at Ogden October, 1885, and have ever since lived here. Our departed friend joined the Swedish Evangelical Mission church of Ogden, April 7, 1891, and was at her departure the oldest member of the same. Although she for the last few years constantly longed for the summons, it came quite un______________. After only a few days ______________________________. The five children mourn her departure, Mrs. R. Storesund, Mrs. G. Asklund, Mrs. Alfred Johnson, Erick and Oscar Hagaleen, also a number of grandchildren.
