Obituary.
Emma Kristina Storesund was born December 31, 1860 in Ostergotland, Horns socken, Sweden, the daughter of Jonas Peter Hageleen and his wife, Kristin Maria.

In 1885 she arrived in the United States. On March 26, 1887, she was married at Boone, Iowa, to Rasmus Storesund, who passed away March 24, 1933. Except for a brief time following her arrival in this country, Mrs. Storesund spent the greater part of her life at Ogden. After the death of her husband, she moved to Des Moines, there to live with her children, [sic] when circumstances would permit, however, she would return to Ogden to visit her children here and other relatives and friends.

Death came after but a brief illness at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Gallagher, Des Moines, on the evening of October 3, 1938. At the time of her passing, she was 78 years, 9 months and 3 days.

Mrs. Storesund was the mother of eleven children, four of which preceded her in death. The surviving children are: Mrs. Oscar Frejd, Ogden, Iowa; Mrs. Elton Briggs, Des Moines, Iowa Mrs. Clyde McPherson, Des Plaines, Ililnois [sic]; Mrs. Clyde Mullen, Des Moines, Iowa; Mrs. Amy Anderson, Des Moines, Iowa; Mrs. Myrtle Gallagher, Des Moines, Iowa; Herman Storesund, Des Moines, owa [sic]; Mrs. Leo Boardway, San Antonio, Texas; Ernest Storesund, Des Moines, Iowa.

There also survive twenty-one grandchildren; a brother, Erick Hageleen of Ogden, and two sisters, Mrs. Alf Johnson and Mrs. Mary Asklund, also of Ogden.

Notes:
BIRTHDATE. There is some question about her exact birthdate. Her gravestone says 1860. Her obit says Dec. 1860. But the year-month-day calculation in her obit is incorrect, and a different calculation appears on her death record.

HER CHILDREN. The first two children named in the obit (Mrs. Oscar Frejd and Mrs. Elton Briggs) were actually her stepdaughters, children of her husband's first marriage. She did have 11 children, including but not named in the obit: David, Jacob, Olga and Elva, who did not survive her.
