Roland marne peterson died November 5 at Mercy Hospice. He was born December 20 1918 in Ogden, grew up in Ogden and Married Frances A. Sparks on November 24, 1939. They lived in Des Moines before moving to Adel in 1974. he retired in 1979 from John Deere Des Moines Works where he worked as a supervisor for 31 years.
Services for roland will be 11 am Wednesday November 8 at Grace Lutheran Church in Adel with burial at Swede Valley cemetery near Ogden. Friends may call after noon Tuesday at McCalley funeral Home in Adel where family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. with a prayer service at 8 p.m.
He is survived by his wife Frances of Adel,son in law Jerry Witmer of Urbandale, daughters Sandra (Bob) Vignaroli of Jackson, Wyoming, Annetta (Mark) Johnson of Windsor Heights, Nancy (Tony) Kouri of Longmont, Colorado, Karla (Jim) McDowell of Adel, Grandchildren Mike Witmer, Dave Witmer, Steve Witmer, Andrea Lewis, Bob Vignaroli, Laura Irby, Aaron Johnson, Adam Johnson, Amanda Johnson, Melissa Kouri, Josh Kouri, Jason McDowell, Brianna Fitzpatrick, Carissa McDowell and Sarah McDowell and Six Great granddaughters Katie Lewis, Sarah Witmer, Hazel Johnson, Anita Lewis, Elsa Johnson and Emma McDowell.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Emma Evelyn Hough and Anton Richard Peterson, brother Gaylord Peterson and daughter Janann Witmer.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Grace Lutheran Church in Adel or Mercy Hospice.
