BooneFuneral services for Virginia Rose, 89, Boone, were Monday, Nov. 3, 2003 at First United Methodist Church, Boone, with Rev. Phil Webb officiating.
Mrs. Rose died of heart failure Wednesday, Oct. 29 at Easter Star Masonic Home, Boone.
Organist Dave Howell accompanied Karen Peters in singing "On Eagle's Wings" and "Children of the Heavenly Farther."
Virginia Rose was born May 3, 1914 on a farm southeast of Ogden, the daughter of C. Oscar and Susie (Lindahl) Anderson, and graduated from Boone High School in 1932.
She married Dean Rose April 6, 1946 in Maryville, Mo. For 32 years, she was employed at Archway Cookies as an oven operator and an inspector, retiring in 1985.
Virginia was a member of Martha Circle at First United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post #56 Auxiliary. She enjoyed baking pies, especially for the auxiliary for the Legion's BINGO nights.
Survivors include two sons, Stone and his wife Barbara of Hillsboro, Ore. And Thomas and his wife Sandi of Boone; three daughters, Lavonne Shearer and Tamara and her husband Glenn Peterson, all of Boone, and Roxanne and her husband Lynn Aplanalp of Gunlock, Utah; one sister, V. Louise Mehlow of Ames; 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers, Louis, Herbert, Robert and William; and a sister, Mabel Allison.
Interment was at Boone Memorial Gardens.Memorials may be given to the family to be used at their discretion.
Schroeder Memorial Chapel, Boone, was in charge of arrangements.
