BooneFuneral Services for Betty Annan, 74, Boone, will be Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2003, at 10 a.m., at the Central Christian Church in Boone with Rev. Dr. Ron Franklin officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
Mrs. Annan died of a diabetic coma Friday, Nov. 14 at her home.
Casket bearers are Kyle Long, Mike Holts, Adam Annan, Tony Cox, Michael Faust and Paul Schmidt.
Dennis Morgan will be accompanied by David Howell on the organ as he sings "On Eagle's Wings", "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Amazing Grace."
Betty Annan was born Feb. 11, 1929 in Boone, the daughter of Frank and Gladys (Edmunds) Shuey. She married Quentin Annan March 14, 1963 in Omaha, Neb.
Betty was employed in the mailroom department of the Boone News-Republican from 1977 until her retirement Oct. 21, 2003. She enjoyed baking, traveling, gardening, quilting and other crafts.
Survivors include two sons, Michael and his wife Tiasha of York, S.C., and David and his wife Debbie of Ogden; four daughters, Carol Carr of Cottage Gove, Minn., Shelley Greer of Boone, Julia and her husband Chris Cox of Boone, and Janice Annan of Elgin, Okla.; one brother, Donald "Bud" Shuey and his wife Shirley of Boone; one sister, JoAnn Desher of Boone; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Quentin; two sisters; and two nephews.
Interment will be at Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone.Memorials may be left to the Relay for Life cancer fund, Boone News-Republican team.
