Sandra Lou Smothers Stout, 56, Perry, died Monday at her home.

Services were Friday morning at Hastings Funeral Home in Perry, with the Rev. Pastor Mark Sherwood officiating. Burial was at Violet Hill in Perry.

Sandy was born July 30, 1948, in Perry, the daughter of Elza Ray Smothers and Mercedes (Moore) Smothers. She was raised in the Berkley area and she attended Ogden High School, where she graduated with the Class of 1966. After graduation, she attended AIB. On June 1, 1968, she married Pat Stout at the First Presbyterian Church in Perry.

She was employed by the Woodward Resource Center where she worked as an accounts receivable clerk. She had a special interest in computers and enjoyed camping and poetry, or telling a good joke or story.

She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband; her daughter, Misty VonBehren and her husband Jim of Perry; her son Jason and his wife DeeAnn of Des Moines; a granddaughter, Ashley Stout of Perry; a sister, Sarah Hein and her husband, Larry, of Perry; brothers Dennis Smothers of Bouton and David Smothers and his wife Janice of Berkley; nieces, nephews and friends.

Hastings Funeral Home in Perry was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials to the family may be left at the funeral home.
