Terry Jo Bachmann, age 59, of 1320-1st Street, died July 11, 2006. Her body has been cremated and graveside services will be held Saturday, July 15, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at the Linwood Park Cemetery with Rev. Paul Fraser officiating. Burial of her cremains will follow the service.
Terry was born in Boone on January 18, 1947, the daughter of Jack and Doris 'Peg' (Smith) Hohanshelt. She attended grade school at Franklin School and she graduated from Boone High School in 1965.
She then attended Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville, Missouri, the University of Iowa, and graduated from Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids with a degree in Respiratory Therapy. In earlier years, Terry worked as a therapist in Cedar Rapids and Warren, Ohio. She later worked as a secretary for a Speciality Clinic at the Boone County Hospital and as a printer for the Boone Blank Book Co.
On January 23, 1998, Terry married Darrel Bochmann in Ames. She enjoyed riding horses, crocheting, flower arranging, garage sales, collecting Coca Cola memorabilia, volunteer work for the Boone County Historical Society, Boone Tourism, and the V.F.W. Auxiliary of which she was a member, driving her convertible, and playing cards. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Terry was preceded in death by her mother, Peg and a granddaughter, Frannie Tonelli. She is survived by her husband Darrell of Boone; a son Todd Ferry and wife, Sandy of Ft. Madison; a daughter, Jocelyn Tonelli, and husband Francis 'Frankie' of Waukee; her father, Jack Hohansheldt of Boone and a brother, Tom Hohanshelt and wife, Audrey, of Boone; four grandchildren, Andrew and Cassandra Ferry and Cassi and Carly Tonelli; special friends, Sandi Myers and Connie Fulkerson, and all her health care givers.
Friends may call at the Schroeder Memorial Chapel at Sixth and Marshall on Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. where the family will be present. Friends may also call on Saturday at the funeral chapel from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m.
Memorials may be given to the family to be used at their discretion.
