MRS. DURYEA'S FUNERAL RITES WERE MAY 15TH; Was in Charge of Jehovah Witness Representative, Deceased Was Native of Wisconsin

Last rites for the late Mrs. Alma Duryea were held Friday afternoon, May 15th, at 3:45 o'clock at the Hancock Funeral chapel following a short prayer service at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Arringdale, at 1327 Carroll Street. Clarence Barlow, Jehovah's Witness, had charge of the services.

Three hymns, "Under His Wings", "Abide With Me", and "Resurrection Morn", were sung by Drexel Peterson, accompanied by Royal Duckworth at the piano.

In charge of the many beautiful flowers were Mrs. Verna Dickey and Mrs. Florence Brunner.

Following Scripture and prayer, the obituary was read and Mr. Barlow gave a talk on God's Kingdom for which Jesus taught his followers to pray.

Pallbearers were six grandsons, Ray Merle Walrath and Wayne Walrath of Perry; Burton Arringdale and Guy Arringdale of Clinton, Ia; Harold Broadie of Ames, and Walter Aitchison of Boone. Interment was in Linwood park cemetery, east.

BORN IN WISCONSIN

Alma Ethel Duryea, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Philo Hitchcock was born October 18, 1871 at Cobb, Wisconsin and succumbed to a heart attack at the home of her daugher, Mrs. John Arringdale, 1327 Carroll Street, Tuesday night, May 12th, at the age of 70 years, 6 months, and 3 weeks.

Her early life was spent in Wisconsin and Douth Dakota and on Octovber 31, 1888, she was united in marriage to Earl A. Tinkham who preceded her in death. To this union five children were born, three of whom survive.

On September 24, 1922, she was married to Ernest Duryea and in 1926 took Donald (2 years of age) into their home as their own.

She led a consistent Christian life, was a loving wife and mother, always planning for her family and ready at all times to help anyone in need. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

PRECEDED HER

Preceding her in death, are her husband, two sons, Philo Tinkham, aged 11, and Merle Tinkham, aged 43, her parents and one brother.

She leaves to mourn her death two daughters, Mrs. Bird Walrath of Perry, and Mrs. Ida Arringdale of Boone, two sons, Harold M Tinkham of Washington D. C. and Donald Duryea of Boone, one step-son, Arthur Tinkham of Appleton, Wis., one step-daughter, Mrs. Amy Heltcamp of Chicago, Ill., fourteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, five sisters, Mrs. Kittie Reed, Aurora, Ill.; Mrs. Arthur Fraser, Hancock, Wis.; Mrs. Jesse Ames, River Falls, Wis.; Mrs. Roy Dickinson, Rome, NY.; Mrs. Daisy Williams, Milwaukee, Wis.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
