William Parsons, 60, Swisher, died Sunday at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids, following a short illness. He was born March 5, 1940, in Fairfield, the son of Milford and Glessie (Johnson) Parsons. He married Betty Ray, March 11, 1961, in Boone.

He worked as an agent for Ozark Airlines/TWA for more than 30 years and also served with the Iowa National Guard.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife; one son, Brad Parsons of Swisher; one brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Wilma Parsons of Colorado Springs, Colo.; five nephews; and one niece.

Funeral services were held Thursday at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids. Graveside services will be held at10:30 a.m. Friday at Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone, with the Rev. Dr. Richard Harken officiating.

Friends may call at Schroeder Memorial Chapel, Sixth and Marshall streets, Boone, Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m.

Murdoch-LInwood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements in Cedar Rapids. Schroeder Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements in Boone.
