Jennie Lee Patzner 1940-2001

Jennie Lee Patzner, 60, Boone, died Monday at Mary Greeley Medical Center, Ames, of complications from a stroke. She was born June 16, 1940, in Hubbard, the daughter of Howard and Tilley (Fleck) Maisel. She married Delos Edward Patzner Jan. 20, 1962, in Guttenberg.

She moved to Boone from Lanyon in the Mid 1970s and worked as an assembler putting together environmental chambers at Percival Scientific, Boone, for 25 years. She was a member of the Church of the Sacred Heart of Boone, and the Iowa Association of the Deaf, serving as chairman. She also was a member of the Iowa Deaf Campers North Central Fort Dodge Deaf Club, and enjoyed camping, reading, gardening, and growing flowers. She also was a collector.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one son, August Joseph Patzner. Survivors include her husband; one daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and Wayne Stabler of Boone; one son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Carol Patzner of Fort Dodge; three grandchildren, Kiana Josephine Stabler, Tyler August Patzner, and Shayne Maureen Patzner; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Darlene and Everett Kantak of Eldora, and Betty and Delbert Ginger of Britth; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Boone with the Rev. Clem Currans officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Boone.

Friends may call at Schroeder-Walter Funeral Home, 503 Story St., Boone, Thursday from noon to 9 p.m. The family will be persent to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Paul Nguyen officating. Visitation continues Friday at the funeral home from 8 to 10 a.m.

Memorials may be given to the family.

Schroeder-Walter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
