Fred Reimers, 104, Ogden, died Saturday at Ogden Manor. He had been a resident of Ogden Manor since 1992. He was born Dec. 31, 1896, in Amaqua Township, the son of Hans and Katherine (Bock) Reimers.

He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden. He attended country school No. 2 in Boone County, and farmed northwest of Ogden for many years before moving into Ogden in the 1930s. He was employed at the defense plant in Ankeny for a short time during World War II, then worked at Northern Natural Gas Company in Ogden until retiring in the mid-1950s. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Raymond Reimers, and Edward Reimers; and one sister, Eldora Wesack. Survivors include three nieces and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today at Zion Lutheran Church in Ogden with the Rev. Stephen Ude officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden.

Memorials may be given to Zion Lutheran Church.

Carson Funeral Home of Ogden is in charge of arrangements.
