Grace Sundine 1923-2001

Grace Sundine, 78, Wilmington, Ill., and formerly of Pilot Mound, died May 6 at Embassy Care Center in Wilmington of heart failure. She was born March 20, 1923, in Boone, the daughter of James and Ida (Banford) Madden. She married Dwain Sundine Sept. 21, 1944, in Troy, Kan.

She was a cook at the former Tip Top Restaurant in Boone. She was a member of First Christian Church in Harrisburg, Ill., and the Marion Street United Methodist Church in Boone.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Gladys Craven and Florence Madden; three brothers, Leonard, Roy and Howard Madden; and one granddaughter, Sheila Rae Sundine. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Judy Sundine of Wilmington; one daughter, Gloria Wolff of Wilmington; one sister, Mabel Millin of Tacoma, Wash.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grand children.

The body has been cremated.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Schoeder Memorial Chapel, Sixth and Marshall streets, Boone, with the Rev. Barbara Dinnen officiating. Burial of the cremains will be in Pilot Mound Cemetery in Pilot Mound.

Friends may call at Schroeder Memorial Chapel Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. when the family will be present to receive friends. Visitation continues Saturday at the funeral chapel from 8 a.m. until time of services.

Memorials may be given to the Diabetes Foundation.

Schroeder Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
