Georgia Wilson, 74, 788 R Ave., Boone, died Wednesday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines of heart failure. She was born Sept. 19, 1926, in Central City, the daughter of Daniel and Lillie (Slater) Lillie. She married Richard "Dick" Wilson May 17, 1957, in Cedar Rapids.
She graduated from Alburnett High School in 1944 and graduated from Mercy School of Nursing in Des Moines in 1947. In earlier years she was a private registered nurse in Marion. She then worked as a registered nurse at Boone County Hospital, McFarland Clinic in Ames, Ledges Manor, and for 15 years at the Eastern Star Masonic Home in Boone before retiring in 1995. She was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church in Boone, Church Women United, Order of the Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary, A.A.R.P., and Salvation Army Missing Links. Her hobbies included reading, sewing, playing bingo, enjoying the outdoors, and assisting the elderly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Alma Bugg; and one brother-in-law, Robert Mollenhauer. Survivors include her husband; one son, Arlen of Ankeny; two daughters and one son-in-law, Caroline Wilson of Waverly, and Virginia and Timothy Wilson of Pierre, S.D.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Paull and Dorothea Lillie and Willis and Beverly Lillie, all of Marion; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Jane Mollenhauer of Hiawatha, and Charlotte and Howard Powers of Marion; and four grandchildren, Benjamin, Brandon, Amanda, and Andrew Brown of Pierre, S.D.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Augustana Lutheran Church with the Rev. Doug Duin officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone.
Friends may call at the church today from 9 a.m. until time of service.
Memorials may be given to the Boone Roller Rink and Recreation Center, 806 Seventh St., Boone.
Schroeder Memorial Chapel, Sixth and Marshall streets, is in charge of arrangements.
