Gayla Rae Ahrens, 64, Fraser, died Thursday at her home of cancer. She was born July 14, 1937,near Stratford, the daughter of Everett and Ruth Hill.

The body has been cremated.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Marion Street United Methodist Church in Boone. The ashes will be scattered on her acerage in Fraser at a later date.
