Wilton "Steve" Banford, 83, 965 222nd Drive, Ogden, and formerly of Boone, died Monday at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames of heart failure. He was born April 24, 1918, near Mackey in Boone County, the son of Charles and Edith (Miller) Banford. He married Doris Anderson May 28, 1945, in Troy, KN.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Schroeder Memorial Chapel, Sixth and Marshall streets, Boone, with the Rev. Dr. Herbert Foxworthy officiating. Burial with military honors by the Boone Veterans Council will be in Boone Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call at Schroeder Memorial Chapel Thursday from 3 to 9 p.m. The family will be present to receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Visitation continues Friday at the funeral chapel from 8 a.m. until time of services.

Memorials may be given to the family to be used at their discretion.

Schroeder Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
