Dorothy Springer Hastey, 77, Riverside, Calif., died Oct. 16 in Arlington, Texas, of heart failure. She was born Oct. 24, 1922, in Boone, the daughter of Howard and Mary (Powers) Springer.

She attended school at Sacred Heart High School in Boone. She was a homemaker and lived most of her life in California.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister; and two brothers. Survivors include one daughter, Patty Lester of Arlington, Texas; one sister, Madonna Paul of California; two grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The body was cremated. Graveside services and burial of the cremains will be at 11 a.m. today at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Boone with the Rev. Clem Currans officiating.

Schroeder Memorial Chapel, Sixth and Marshall streets, Boone, is in charge of arrangements.
